Hello, I’m Kathleen Triebwasser, a therapist, educator, and lifelong learner with over three decades of experience.
My professional career is a testament to the profound impact of courage, creativity, and continuous learning on the path to well-being.
-
My story began in college as a psychology student. It took a detour into elementary education and eventually circled back to my roots at the age of 40. Armed with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a Master's in Counselor Education with numerous awards, leadership positions, and association memberships, I found my true calling as a therapist. I've since dedicated my career to being a Mental Health Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist.
-
Throughout my career, I've worked in diverse settings—from a family therapist at a psychiatric hospital for children and adolescents, “to have therapist will travel”, consulting for Head Start, teaching Children First in Divorce, and working in a managed-care-owned clinic. The journey led me to private practice, where I've accumulated over thousands of hours of continuing education, driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge.
-
I find joy in helping people and expressing creativity. My commitment to creative expression extends beyond the therapy room and permeates every aspect of my life. I've taught provided individual coaching, numerous workshops, volunteered, and lead an ongoing creative writing workshop, now in its sixteenth session. Every photograph on the website, showcases the beauty of flowers and nature. I took these images share my love of the beauty of the natural world.
-
My book, "Courage Blossoms," encapsulates my belief that courage is embodied in compassion, open-heartedness, understanding, respect, acceptance, gratitude, and empathy. Having faced my own personal challenges, I've come to appreciate the profound importance of courage.
-
As a lifelong learner, I'm now semi-retired but remain actively engaged in my private practice. With the luxury of time, I'm continuing to offer therapy, individual coaching, writing workshop, and support. I am working on writing endeavors that include a historical fiction novel, " Nothing Left To Say," and a non-fiction book, "Disinheritance Hurts Everyone, Finding Your Way to Joy."
-
Expression, to me, is the antidote to depression—a philosophy that underscores my approach as a person, therapist, teacher, writer, and artist.
I'm excited about the ongoing journey of growth and creativity, including "Courage Blossoms Live"—a daily audio inspiration to infuse courage into each day.
Join me on this ever-evolving journey where courage and expression intersect, creating a tapestry of healing, learning, and boundless creativity.
Warm regards,
Kathleen Triebwasser
